Exchange City Update!

Dear Parents,

            In an effort to try and keep our students on a regular routine during the week of standardized testing, we have spent the last several weeks trying to find a new date to visit Exchange City. Unfortunately, it has been very difficult to find a date that works for the people who run Exchange City as well as the other school we will be attending with and we were unable to reschedule.  We will be visiting Exchange City on the previously scheduled date, Tuesday, April 17^th.  Therefore, our fifth grade students will follow a slightly different standardized testing schedule than the rest of the school.  Fifth grade will test Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the week of April 16^th – 20^th.  We apologize for any inconvenience this rescheduling may cause you and your family.  As of Monday, we believed that we would have to make sure our students were ready to visit Exchange City by April 2^nd, which put us on a very tight schedule. However, the additional days students will have to prepare by working within their businesses will be very useful in making their experience at Exchange City that much more beneficial and memorable.  

            We would like to sincerely thank all of the parents who came to help interview the fifth graders today, even on such short notice. We believe the interview process is an important and valuable experience for our students and we could not do it without you.  We are going to call on our parents for help once more because we will also need eight parents to join us on April 17^th for our day at Exchange City. We will need each volunteer to be at Exchange City with us from 9:00-2:00 on the 17^th.  Since we will be in the caves, volunteers will likely not have cell phone service while helping students in their businesses. If you are interested in joining us on April 17th, please fill out the bottom portion of the letter your student brought home today.  In the event we have more than eight parents express interest in helping at Exchange City, we will use the returned forms to draw names on Friday afternoon. We will do this with the students, so they will know which volunteers will come with us before they leave school tomorrow.  We are so grateful to have such supportive parents who are willing to step in and help out!
