October 17th - 21st

First quarter ended with yet another busy week.
  • In language arts this week students finished Wordly Wise 9 and studied singular, plural, common, and proper nouns.
  • Mrs. Jones's class has been busy reading When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit and Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio.
  • Miss Iserman's class finished reading Holes, took the test over the novel, and started watching the movie version of the book.
  • In social studies students reviewed latitude and longitude and ended the week with a fun game of latitude and longitude Bingo.
  • Students have been working hard in science on their Science Expo projects.  Students should have their experiment conducted by Monday, October 24th.  They also need to have their trifold boards and any decorations they want for their board here at school that day.
Next week we will begin WordMasters so there will be no Wordly Wise packet for the next few weeks.  Students will also be wrapping up their Science Expo projects which will be on display during Parent Teacher Conferences.  The Lower School Pumpkin Parade will begin on Tuesday, October 25th.  Students in grades 1-5 are welcome to bring in a decorated pumpkin on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Students who wish to bring a carved pumpkin may bring theirs on Monday, October 31st.
