A Busy Third Week

Though it was only a four day week, a lot has been happening in fifth grade these past few days! Students  finished their final drafts of their personal narratives which are now on display in the second floor commons. In science students continued to work on creating line and bar graphs, and in social studies students learned more about Native Americans.  Students also completed their third Wordly Wise packet this week.

Students should be busy reading their book report books.  The book report is due Friday, October 7th.  All students have had their book approved by their teacher and have also turned in a title page.  Students should also be working on Wordly Wise 4 which is due Thursday, September 15th.

It was wonderful to see all of you at curriculum night on Thursday evening.  We hope the presentation and curriculum packet were helpful.  We are really looking forward to working with you this year!

Our field trip to Heartland was fantastic!  The weather could not have been better.  The students spent the day working in a small group and learning and practicing the many skills that are necessary for working in a team. Students will each write a reflection paper about their experience and we will have a class discussion on Monday about the trip and all we learned.  Thank you to the room parents who provided delicious treats for our ride home!
