*The annual Pancake Breakfast will be held February 17 in the school cafeteria from 7:00-8:30 in the morning. This breakfast, sponsored by the 8th grade, serves as a fund raiser for the school and culminates with a class gift presentation during the graduation ceremony in May.
**During
the last two weeks of February, St. Paul’s Student Council is sponsoring a
school wide Spirit Spree (also called the Extreme Spirit Challenge in the
Middle School). This is a time when we
celebrate our spirit of sportsmanship as we support St. Paul’s athletes in
basketball tournaments. We also recall
our commitment to service in the community as we collect items for the St.
Paul’s food pantry. Please join us for
the fun and help us build our can structure. Visit the link below to access the details of this event.

In reading, Mrs. Nash's class finished their Literature Circle novels. Next week, we will be completing a project based on the work they completed during this unit. Miss Laird's class continued reading Small Steps. We are chapter 9 and we focused on summarizing and visualizing. Next week we will discuss Peg’s character traits and how her experiences have changed her throughout the book.
In social studies, we continued with our study of the American Revolution. Students learned about the Tea Act and the Boston Tea Party as well as the meeting of the First Continental Congress. Next week, we will focus on the first battles in the war. Our test over this unit will be Tuesday, March 10th.
In science, we finished our unit on the human body system. We worked this week on our study guide. We ended the week by going through the study guide and answered any questions about the material. Next week we will continue to review and we will test on Friday. The following week we will begin a short unit on health and wellness.
