Sept 26-30

Students have had another successful yet busy week in fifth grade! Book reports are due Friday, October 7th.  Students should be finishing their reading book by this Friday if they have not already done so. In reading class, Ms. Iserman's class continues to read through Holes and students seem to enjoy the story.  Mrs. Jones' class finished Shiloh, took a test over the novel, and are creating story maps using Kidspiriation on the laptops. In language arts, we have continued our unit on sentences.  Our test over this unit will be Monday, October 10.  There will be no study guide for language arts, but if students would like to study they may use pages 68-71 and 74-85.  In social studies, we completed our review of Native American settlements and students took their first unit test on Thursday. We will be starting Unit 2 about exploration and colonization next week. In science, students have been planning our next experiment which will focus on the effectiveness of the popular infomorcial product, The Shamwow.  On Friday, September 30th students had their first Buddy Chapel.  Students will have a buddy activity on Friday, October 7th to create megaphones for the upcoming buddy run.
