Academics

In Language Arts, we finished our final grammar unit over prepositions, using dialogue correctly, adverbs and pronouns. Students will have a final test over this unit on Monday, May 18th. They have a reference guide for this unit and may use pages 406-413 and 488-497 in their language arts textbook for extra practice. There is also a section on our grammar LiveBinder that covers this unit, The link to this LiveBinder can be found on the right hand side of the blog and the access code is grammar. We also completed Wordly Wise 20. Needless to say the kids were pretty excited about finishing their Wordly Wise careers.

In reading, both classes finished their book contract books. Students should be ready to turn in completed daily journals along with the rest of book contract projects on Wednesday, May 20th. They will be given time on Monday and Tuesday in class to work on finalizing these projects.

In social studies, we learned about several different aspects of the Civil War by working in groups to present plays to the class. Each group was given a script about a particular part of the Civil War by working in groups to present plays to the class. Each group was given a script about a particular part of the Civil War and have to plan out how to present it to the rest of the class. We began sharing on Friday and will finish early next week.

This week in science we took our test over the space unit. Next week we will wrap up the year was a few fun final experiments.
