Summer Has Arrived

We enjoyed working with your children this year!  We hope you have a wonderful summer!  We look forward to seeing you in the fall. 

Summer Reading

The summer reading assignment for students entering fifth grade is to read Castle in the Attic by Elisabeth Winthrop.  Students will complete activities related to this novel during the first weeks of school in August. 

 

The summer reading assignment for students entering sixth grade consists of reading three books, one of which is assigned and provided by the school, and completing three book reports. These book reports will be the first grade in sixth grade reading. For more information about this assignment please visit the Middle School summer reading section of the library blog. We also went over this assignment in depth during the last few weeks of school.

Fifth Grade Teachers

The two fifth grade homeroom teachers are Becky Nash and Rebecca Laird. Both teachers teach reading and language arts to their homeroom students. Mrs. Nash teaches social studies to all fifth grade students, and Miss Laird teaches science to all fifth grade students. Fifth graders have math with Linda Glass, the middle school math teacher.
